Depending on which night you book, you can visit the most haunted places in Inglewood, where you will learn about a local curse and mischievous ghosts that cause havoc in nearby businesses.

Throughout October, there are special Inglewood Halloween Ghost Walks on October 23rd, October 24th, October 30th and Halloween night, October 31st. 3. Halloween in Calgary at Calgary Zoo

Do you want to spend Halloween in Calgary exploring the zoo? This October, there are a few seriously spooky and mysterious events for both adults and families.

On October 18th, head to the zoo for an adult-only Halloween event called ZooDunnit. The evening features a spooky murder-mystery dinner with drinks, food, and a mystery! It’s loads of fun and one of the best things to do with your friends for Halloween.

Later in the month, the zoo will host one of the best Halloween events in Calgary—the ZooBoo! This family-friendly event allows you to dress up in your favourite Halloween costume and receive tasty sweet treats while wandering around the zoo.

Lougheed House has several events that will make your Halloween extra spooky. Throughout the month, Lougheed House offers several guided tours that include a Halloween Twist. 

On October 26th, Lougheed House is hosting a Halloween Tea, which features tea leaf readers to tell your fortune. October 26th also features a Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner for people who love a good mystery with a side of delicious food.

5. Killer Psyche at Telus Spark Science Centre

The paranormal are back at Telus Spark in Calgary for Halloween. Something lingers in the darkness. On October 9th, 2026, head to Telus Spark to experience creepy illusions, eerie experiments and a ghostly interactive experience which dives deeper into the world of the paranormal.

This adult-only event takes place on October 9th from 6:00 p.m. to Midnight.  If you are looking for things to do in Calgary for adults but with a creepy twist, you must visit Spark After Dark this Halloween.

Take a haunted pub walk with Calgary Ghost Walks. Head to two of Calgary’s most haunted pubs with a tour guide who will captivate you with tales of the ghosts that haunt each pub. You will drink spirits while hanging out with spirits!

7. Watch The Evil Dead – The Musical on Halloween in Calgary

Head down to Alberta Theatre Projects on Halloween to enjoy a party and watch the campy cult-classic musical The Evil Dead.

It follows 5 friends who unleash evil in a cabin in the woods when the star of The Evil Dead shows up with his chainsaw hand.

The musical runs from October 13th to November 14th, 2026, but they will have a special Halloween presentation on October 31st, which includes a Halloween party in the lobby an hour before the show begins.

7. Go Ghost Hunting at Mystic Manor

This Halloween, explore the haunted Mystic Manor with three spooky experiences. They have The Haunted Tour, where you will be guided through the manor, exploring every haunted corner with psychic and ghost-hunting equipment.

So, prepare to spend Halloween in Calgary hunting for the paranormal with top-of-the-line ghost-hunting equipment.

Other tours include the Flashlight Tour, where you are let loose in the manor with only the light from a flashlight. You won’t experience a ghost hunt or ghost tour – you walk around in the darkness exploring.

8. Walk Through the Field of Screams at Cobbs Adventure Park

Head to Cobbs Adventure Park for their annual and horrifying Field of Screams Halloween event in Calgary. This outdoor event takes place over 20 acres, where you will walk through the scariest haunted houses.

The 2026 haunted houses are some of the most terrifying places you will ever experience. Some houses include visiting your own funeral at Buried Alive, visiting a haunted mansion, visiting a madhouse, and so much more.

This year’s events take place on October 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th, 25th, and 26th. If you prefer to enjoy the event without children, the 22nd is an adults-only evening.

9. Scream at Calgary’s Screamfest

Spend this Halloween season at Screamfest Calgary. The insanely scary fright will be held at Stampede Park, where fearless (who are we kidding, we will all be scared) visitors can wander through terrifying haunted houses that will send a shiver down your spine.

The 2026 season brings seven terrifying haunted houses, so spend your night wandering through some of the scariest haunted houses, including the sinister Clowntown, Bates Motel, and Reapers & Grimm.

Expect live actors to be waiting for you, lurking around every dark corner, ready to pounce out at you at any moment. ScreamFest is a Halloween attraction in Calgary you won’t want to miss.

If you love haunted houses, you must spend Halloween with Haunted Calgary. 

Haunted Calgary wasted no time setting up the Slasher Showdown – The Friday the 13th Massacre.

For Halloween events, they offer activities like Hell Night, which plunges you right into the middle of a zombie outbreak! The Halloween event is immersive as it challenges you to outrun the dead. If you get infected, you join the other side and go after the remaining humans. It’s such a fun way to spend Halloween in Calgary.

11. Halloween Horror Movie Marathons

If you love Halloween, you surely love Halloween movies. Visit movie theatres like the Globe Cinema and the Plaza Theatre and spend the evening watching your favourite classic Halloween and horror films.

The Calgary Underground Film Festival hosts a 12-Hour Halloween Movie Marathon each Halloween, and this year’s will take place on October 26th at the Globe Cinema. All night long, they will host seven under-the-radar and classic horror movies.

12. Calgary’s Ultimate Halloween Party with Menagerie Halloween

Get excited for a night of frightful fun at the Menagerie Halloween Party in Calgary. This is an adults-only Halloween bash at Mount Royal University in Wyckham House.

The Halloween Party takes place on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 and includes a live DJ spinning spooky tunes, old-school Halloween party games, a costume contest, Halloween-themed cocktails, trick-or-treat stations, a fortune teller, and plenty of other spooky surprises throughout the evening.

The party also includes black cat adoption care at the AARCS Safe Haven that helps some of the cutest overlooked cats around Halloween.

13. Ride the Train of Terror (18+)

Hop aboard the Train of Terror this Halloween for a night of screams and surprises. This is one of the best adult-only Halloween activities in Calgary this year. 

The train takes you on a scary journey into the unknown, featuring two hours of maze haunts (indoor and outdoor), eerie freight cars, delicious food and drinks, and live entertainment that will send shivers down your spine.

What makes the Train of Terror so scary is that the performers will touch, grab, and follow you, so be prepared for an extra spooky evening this Halloween!

The Train of Terror begins on October 2 and runs once every Friday and Saturday, with the final ride on Halloween night. It departs at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm, with the experience lasting around 2 hours.

If you want to experience a terrifying haunted house just 30 minutes outside of Calgary, head to Dr. Giggles House of Pain in Chestermere this Halloween. The Halloween event includes a Costume Bash and an evening in a spooky haunted house.

15. Harvest Pumpkin Fest

If you are looking for family-friendly events for Halloween in Calgary this year, you must spend a day at the Butterfield Acres farm.

Not only do you get to find the perfect pumpkin to take home to carve, but you also get to see animals, which makes it the perfect way to welcome the Halloween season with the family. 

There are so many autumn activities, including pony rides for the kids, drinking apple cider by a cozy fire pit and taking a wagon ride on a tractor!

The festival runs every weekend throughout October for the 2026 Halloween season.

Walk through a display of over 10,000 pumpkins at Calgary’s Pumpkins After Dark. The pumpkin-lined pathway is enchanting and the perfect way to spend Halloween in Calgary.

The 2026 event takes place at Winsport from September 20th to October 31, 2026.

Every year, the businesses on 17th Avenue join together, giving you a Halloween you won’t forget. 

Head to Tomkins Park on the 25th and 26th of October to enjoy the spooky season in Calgary, including classic Halloween movies like The Haunted Mansion, The Shining, Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow and more.

Other Halloween activities the whole family can enjoy include a trip to the Sugar Cube Candy Truck, a stop at the Photo Booth, trick-or-treating, and many other fun activities.

19. Escape from Where Dark Things Dwell at Heritage Park

Explore the historic Heritage Park after dark this Halloween with Where Dark Things Dwell. The outside escape room combines mystery and horror as you try to solve puzzles, uncover secrets, and try to solve an ancient curse. 

The villagers of Heritage Park have been overtaken by a dark entity through strange rituals, and will guide you through the park. The Hallween event in Calgary is the perfect blend of an escape room and scary supernatural storytelling.

The farm is covered in loads of twinkling lights, which create a magical atmosphere while you can enjoy Halloween activities for the entire family, including a petting farm, pig races, rat rollers, and so much more.

21. Watch the Pumpkin Drop

Do you want to watch a giant pumpkin drop from the sky and smash into a million pieces onto the ground? Well, on October 30th, you can witness the pumpkin drop at Alice Sanctuary. This is a ticketed event, so book tickets as soon as possible!

22. Go Halloween Shopping & Costume Shopping

Head to shops like Winners and Michaels and browse their high-quality Halloween items, including skeleton dishes, pumpkin pillows, and ghost blankets.
