Adult-Only Activities and Attractions in Edmonton
Updated September 15, 2023
Where Dark Things Dwell
Anytime I get to run around Fort Edmonton Park after hours in the dark is an idea of a fun time for me. Why not make it exciting by spending the time immersing yourself in an outdoor escape room?
The storyline is that the citizens of the small village you have stopped at for the night are trapped by an ancient curse, and you must escape before it consumes you. It gives me The Last of Us vibes (with fewer clickers), but that might be because I am watching that show right now.
This tour runs from July 6th to September 24th, with Dark starting in early October.
This activity is for 14+, but the groups are split up, so the chances you will be in an adults-only group are high.

Explore the Adult-Only Nights at the Muttart Conservatory
If you want to explore the pyramids of the Muttart Conservatory without school groups, families or children, you can! The Muttart Conservatory has adult-only evenings every Wednesday from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

See Stand-up Comedians Perform at The Comic Strip
Head down to the Comic Strip at West Ed for a night of laughs and potentially being mocked by a quick-witted comedian.
Some upcoming comedians coming to Edmonton include TJ Miller and The Danger Cats. Plus, they often do triple threat Tuesdays and battle to the funny bone nights.

Scream Yourself Silly at Dark
Halloween lovers rejoice! Fort Edmonton Park throws an incredible pop-up Halloween event called Dark at Fort Edmonton Park.
The haunted house event allows visitors to walk through the park being scared by character actors at various haunts.
It’s one of the best fun things to do in Edmonton for adults. The park sells craft beer, food and fear! The adult-only event in Edmonton runs through October.
This event is also 14+, but I go yearly and do not see many young teens. When you are walking through the haunts, it’s usually just you and your group with a few others here and there, but I wanted to give you a heads-up.
When and where? October 6 to the 29th at Fort Edmonton Park

Snow Valley Aerial Park
Okay, so technically, this isn’t an adult-only attraction in Edmonton. However, I am still including it because it’s cool as hell, and generally, adults can’t partake in attractions like this.
So, climb or crawl to the top of the Snow Valley Aerial Park Tower, where you can swing and step your way through the entire structure. It’s loads of fun to do with friends or on your own. If you are afraid of heights, I recommend skipping this – or facing your fear and doing your best. (That’s what I did!)
So, as noted above, the aerial park does allow children, but they have to be a certain height, and most of them stay near the bottom, so if you climb high enough, you can get away from them.

Kids are allowed at this event, and anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult, but every time I attended a concert, I didn’t spot any kids. Either they were really well-behaved or were spending the evening with the babysitter.

Spend the Night with the Paranormal at Fort Edmonton Park
If you are into the paranormal or supernatural side of life, you know that Fort Edmonton Park is haunted. So why not spend a few hours at Fort Edmonton Park after dark with some paranormal equipment, investigators and tons of spooky stories?
These tours run with the seasons, so that you can take these tours in the fall and spring. The tours run on Sundays and Wednesdays and are 3.5 hours long. Plus, each tour welcomes a maximum of 10 people, so be sure to book early so you don’t miss out.
The tour runs from September 5th to December 5th, 2023 and will probably return in the spring of 2024.
